This is about safeguarding Sweden's national interests. Each customer's workload operates in complete isolation to ensure the highest level of security and control. The infrastructure is purpose built for critical government operations and fully aligned with Sweden's IT security standards. Designed for certification under Swedish and EU regulations, evroc's cloud environment keeps data and control entirely within the country providing a truly sovereign and secure foundation for national data.
The Government Cloud ensures that your data remains secure in Sweden at all times. evroc provides a fully sovereign software stack operated entirely within Swedish jurisdiction. Teracom, which is 100% government owned, owns and operates the buildings, communication links and IT infrastructure where the software stack is deployed. No external entity can override access or availability. You decide how your data is used and who has access to it, while remaining fully protected from extraterritorial laws. The Swedish Government Cloud gives you full control and peace of mind over your critical information assets.
The evroc software stack is built on modern cloud native principles. Micro segmentation, policy as code and infrastructure as code ensure that workloads can run securely and consistently using the latest methodologies. The platform maintains full compatibility across evroc regions, including France and Germany, enabling consistent operations and simplified deployment for public sector users with multinational needs.
The Government Cloud's architecture includes redundant power supply with long endurance (including UPS and fuel generators) and hardened facilities to keep critical systems running during outages and in times of crisis. Rigorous risk analysis and testing ensure that even if incidents like power loss occur, essential services keep operating. The Government Cloud is operated by personnel assigned to war duties to maintain operations in the event of armed conflict.
The Government Cloud platform supports robust disaster recovery plans: data can be backed up daily and replicated across secure Swedish locations, enabling rapid restoration. By defining "design event" scenarios (e.g. ransomware attacks), agencies can ensure continuity plans (e.g. daily offsite backups, established recovery sites) allowing systems to be restored within strict time frames (e.g. 24 hours or less). The Government Cloud is designed to support compliance efforts with NIS2 and MSB guidelines on incident response and recovery, helping organizations return to normal or baseline operations swiftly after disruptions.
The Government Cloud leverages multiple layers of redundancy: critical components are duplicated, and data is stored in multiple copies and across different physical locations. Network connectivity is delivered via multiple redundant fiber links on Teracoms's national backbone, and organizations can arrange diverse network paths (fiber, radio link, mobile 4G/5G, or satellite) to access the cloud so that if one connection is cut, another can take over.
The platform's multi-zone design (i.e. separate availability zones within Sweden) means that if one data center or system goes down, services fail over to an alternative site, ensuring continuous operations. This includes personnel being geographically distributed and trained for redundancy to avoid single points of failure in operations.
