Together with Stockholm AI, evroc hosted an evening dedicated to one of the most critical questions in technology today: what happens if Europe loses access to proprietary AI models?
As AI becomes deeply embedded in products, services, and infrastructure, the question of ownership and access is no longer theoretical. Who controls the models, the data, and the platforms will shape how innovation happens in the years to come. Against this backdrop, the event invited developers, students, researchers, and entrepreneurs to explore the concept of Sovereign AI — and what it could mean in practice for Europe's digital future.
The evening brought together people with different backgrounds but a shared curiosity and sense of urgency. Through open discussions and hands-on experimentation, participants explored how Europe can reduce dependency on closed ecosystems, build resilient infrastructure, and ensure that AI innovation remains open, transparent, and within reach.
Getting to experiment with evroc's platform in real time gave us a glimpse of what a truly European AI infrastructure could look like.

— Axel, Student at KTH
The program opened with keynotes from evroc and Aloi AI, framing the challenges and opportunities around building AI infrastructure in Europe. These perspectives set the stage for a mini hackathon where participants worked in small teams to build agentic systems directly on top of the evroc AI platform.
What stood out throughout the evening was the speed at which ideas turned into working prototypes. Concepts moved quickly from whiteboards to live demos, highlighting both the technical capability in the room and the strong appetite for hands-on learning. The hackathon became a space not only for building, but for sharing approaches, learning from each other, and testing what is possible when barriers are removed.
It was inspiring to see how quickly ideas turned into working prototypes. Events like this prove that Europe has both the talent and the drive to build its own AI future.

Through initiatives like this, evroc aims to strengthen dialogue, collaboration, and practical experimentation across the AI ecosystem. By bringing people together around real tools and real problems, the goal is to help shape an AI future that is built in Europe, by Europe, and for Europe.
